8-Port RS-232 PCI Express Card with Oxford Single Chip, Standard & Low Profile Brackets (Supports Power Over Pin-9)
Antaira Technologies introduces the MSC-208A1 multiport RS-232 serial card that connects to the MCI Express I/O adapter. The 8 port serial RS232 card utilizes a 16C950-type UART, 1-chip solution to increase throughput and reduce CPU loading. The MSC-208A1 multi port serial card is designed for client or server applications to provided instant COM port expansion along the PCI Express bus (PCIE).
By using the PCI Express bus, the user is able to maintain backwards compatibility with PCI applications/drivers while providing a scalable, high-performance serial I/O interface. The architecture defines a high-performance, point-to-point, scalable, serial bus at speed of 250Mbytes/sec to 4GBytes/sec.
The MSC-208A1 RS232 serial card is fully PCI Express Plug-and-Play compatible and no IRQ and I/O address conflict problems. The MSC-208A1 provides the scalability to quickly adapt to new PCI Express technologies with legacy equipment.
